45RPM Coming to DVD!

I can’t believe it’s finally here! The movie I had the great pleasure to work on a few years ago with the incredible Juli Jackson on her full-length, Arkansas-made feature – 45RPM – which I helped not only with branding, but also did most of the work for the artist in the film, including 30+ sketches, 20 large paintings, a sketchbook, hundreds of frames of animation and more! Not only that, but I have done the branding and much of the packaging for the movie.

Well, good news!!

45RPM is now available for preorder on DVD!! And if you hurry, you can get in on the limited edition 7″ record with THE song from the movie!

Quick Movie Overview:

Charlie, an artist who seeks a connection between her work and her estranged father’s music, teams up with Louie, an obsessive record collector from Memphis, and together they begin an exhaustive search for a rare 45 recording from the 1960s Arkansas garage rock scene that takes them both on a journey across the seldom-explored landscape of the new Old South.

Be sure to hurry and order yours today! The official release date for DVD and VOD is March 14th.

2016 Ozark Foothills Film Fest Branding

2016-poster-sm

Once again, I worked with the wonderful people at the Ozark Foothills Film Fest to create the branding for this year’s fest. In the past I try to work in the theme of the Ozarks and Arkansas, at least in some way, but this year I went a different route. I chose something more eye catching and direct.

2015 Ozark Foothills Film Fest

Ozark Foothills FilmFest

Again this year I got to create the look for the annual Ozark Foothills FilmFest. I really like the way this years turned out and especially the tshirts. Looking forward to another great day of movies tomorrow. Bob and Judy are the very best.

2014 Arts & Music Fest

2014-logo

Instead of a small Art & Stroll this year, Paragould began the first annual Arts & Music Festival. I did the branding: logo, posters, flyers, website, tshirts, stickers, brochure…. you name it, I probably did it. Here are just a few items from the 2014 campaign.

Ozark Foothills Filmfest Branding 2014

This year I was lucky enough to do the branding for the 2014 Ozark Foothills FilmFest. The barn picture used was taken by me in Minnesota; originally a daytime picture, it was digitally altered to be illuminated by the moon.

Sockweb – Werewolf Album Branding

Sockweb Album Art Werewolf

I was recently asked by The Monolith Records to design a logo and the album cover for the up-and-coming grindcore band, Sockweb’s first album Werewolf.

Sockweb are a father/daughter combo where the daughter is just seven years old. The output is some of the most adorable grindcore ever heard by human ears; Adam “Blackula” Young writes and records the music, as well as supplementary vocals, but Joanie “Bologna” Young provides the primary vocal outlet, and ever since the earlier songs were released her chops have grown increasingly more brutal.

I couldn’t help but love these guys from the moment I heard them. It was a fun project and I think the outcome is just as lively.

“It was pretty difficult at first to find the right place to turn to, we wanted to find an artist that would accurately create a tableau that gave credence to the situation of a young girl finding a Werewolf in her room, but that could have been painted by a child. Trying to find a perfect balance between childlike prowess and actual professional artistry is a much harder feat than you would expect, but we were lucky to come into contact with the fantastic and always dependable Mandy Maxwell. This young artist is not only incredibly efficient with her timing and fair with her pricing – she always maintains the utmost professionalism when it comes to communication and is extremely understanding and flexible. I’ve worked with many artists, but it’s always refreshing to find the ones that truly engage with the concept and are unafraid to share their passion with you.”

Ozark Foothills Film Fest Unveiling Reminder: Tomorrow!

Ozark Foothills Filmfest

Today the official branding I did for the 2012 Ozark Foothills Filmfest went live, you can see it on their website here. The website features the photograph from the poster, and various other background images taken by me. The poster and t-shirt I designed are also featured on the site. Tomorrow, February 21st, I will be in Batesville, AR for the poster unveiling and press announcement. Hope To see you out!

Recent Announcement from FilmFest Headquarters:

Hello, Friends of the Fest.

Just a reminder that this Tuesday, February 21, is the FilmFest schedule release and poster unveiling. It takes place at 11:00 am at the Batesville Area Arts Council Gallery.

This year’s branding artist, Mandy Maxwell from Paragould, will attend. In addition to providing the original photograph used in this year’s official poster, Mandy also did or helped with all the pieces of this year’s branding campaign, including the website, program cover, and t-shirt. She’s spent countless hours working on our behalf; we’re hoping for a good crowd to reward her efforts.

For those of you who have purchased or indicated that you plan to purchase a Foothills Film Society membership, I will bring most of the members’ posters to the unveiling so that Mandy can sign them, if you’d like her to.

Hope to see you there!

Bob and Judy

The Batesville Area Art Council Gallery is located at 246 E. Main St. in Batesville, AR.
